New ICD-11 Diagnostic Guidelines for Mental, Behavioural or Neurodevelopmental Disorders online course
Another chance to take part in the World Psychiatric Association and Global Mental Health Academy jointly sponsored ICD-11 Diagnostic Guidelines for Mental, Behavioural or Neurodevelopmental Disorders online course.
Following the success of the new ICD-11 Diagnostic Guidelines for Mental, Behavioural or Neurodevelopmental Disorder online course back in November last year, the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) and the Global Mental Health Academy are delighted to sponsor the next edition of the ICD-11 online course again that will take place in May.
The new ICD-11 Clinical Descriptions and Diagnostic Guidelines (CDDG) for ICD-11 Mental, Behavioural or Neurodevelopmental Disorders, developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) Department of Mental Health and Substance Use, is built on more than three decades of advances in research and practice since the publication of the ICD-10. Following its approval by the World Health Assembly in May 2019, WHO Member States around the world are actively beginning the initial stages of implementation of ICD-11 for health reporting and statistical purposes. The ICD-11 will be implemented in clinical systems around the world over the next few years.
As with the previous course, this comprehensive 4-week live online course will provide an overview of the key principles of the WHO’s ICD-11 and in-depth knowledge about the ICD-11 CDDR. The training faculty for the course are renowned global experts who have been deeply involved for more than a decade in leading the development, testing, and implementation of the ICD-11 classification of Mental, Behavioural or Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
The purpose of the ICD-11 CDDG is to guide implementation of the classification in clinical settings by psychiatrists and other relevant mental health professionals. The course will cover the areas of highest disease burden and service utilisation in adult psychiatry, as well as those with the greatest innovations and changes in the ICD-11.
The course is highly relevant to the assessment of psychopathology and the diagnosis of mental and behavioural disorders in clinical practice. Psychiatrists and other health professionals will benefit from learning and applying these ground-breaking new diagnostic guidelines in their research and practice.
