Course Announcement: A Primer on Online Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis
Beginning this Thursday evening, April 2, APsaA offers a COVID Primer – a mini-course on getting online in our time of COVID 19. The course is free and open to all analytic clinicians. You may attend one or all. Please note this course will be recorded for future access through APsaA.

Faculty
David Scharff, MD, Course Chair, is Co-Chair of APsaA’s COVID 19 Committee, Co-founder and former director of the International Psychotherapy Institute, and has more than 20 years of experience and several articles reporting on online therapy and online psychoanalytic teaching in the US and China.
Sharon Blum, PhD: Author of seminal articles on telephone therapy, with years of experience in distance psychoanalysis. Faculty, New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles
Lena Ehrlich: Training Analyst, Michigan Psychoanalytic, has written on extensively on psychoanalytic practice, training and distance analysis.
Ralph Fishkin, D. O. is a member of the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Center, former Secretary of APsaA, and has many years and several publications on online psychoanalytic teaching and therapy in China.
Jill Scharff, M.D. is co-founder of the International Psychotherapy Institute and founder of its psychoanalytic training, child analytic and child psychotherapy programs. She has authored foundational articles on online psychoanalytic work and edited 4 volumes of Psychoanalysis Online.
Jeff Taxman, MD: Chair of APsaA’s Committee on Community Psychoanalysis, member of the Wisconsin Psychoanalytic Society, and has 25 years of experience in interventions in mass crises and trauma.
