The Lithuanian Psychiatric Association is the largest organisation in Lithuania for mental health professionals and its mission is to ensure the care of the society’s mental health. Established in 1990, the majority of Lithuanian psychiatrists are currently members. The Lithuanian Psychiatric Association (LPA) works in close cooperation with other state institutions in order to shape national mental health policy and, utilizing the expertise of psychiatrists across Lithuania actively cooperates with partners in Lithuania and abroad. The LPA is a member of such well-respected organizations as the Joint Committee of the Nordic Psychiatric Associations, the European Psychiatric Association and the World Psychiatric Association.
The main objective of the association is to unite psychiatrists, psychotherapists, residents and public organizations in the Republic of Lithuania that are concerned with mental health.
